I broke down and added a pair of studio monitors to the order. The Sweetwater tech (Dan) suggested avoiding the Mackie's, though -- said the highs are a bit crackly. So, I went with the Adam P11A's instead (which have the bonus of being about half as expensive on top of things...).
Now, I have to decide if I'm going to buy an external display (like the 30" LCD from Apple (with the warranty, natch). Regardless of that, though, I'm probably going to pick up a MIDI controller so as to make using the soft synths easier.
