A little bit strange

The Army is looking for a few good musicians. That in and of itself isn't that big a deal. The thing that caught my eye is that you don't have to be do have to be in the Army to join the band [that's what happens when you don't read closely enough. -ed]. Although I wonder if the uniform comes with the gig.

If you read furhter on in the "ad", it requires a minimum of a 3 year enlistment

Not only that, but in all the military bands except the President's Own Marine Band, you have to do basic training. And with many of the bands you risk redeployment to other, non-band, units.

The army reports low recruit numbers these days... I suspect this is a recruitment tactic. Besides, they I don't think they'll let me bring my turntables and vinyl. "Hail to the..Hail to the..I'd did not have sex with that..Chief!.. wiggy wiggy". Oh thats right, they don't actually say "Hail to the Chief".
